JRF: Why did Jesus have to go away, before the Holy Spirit could come?
John 16:4-15 NKJV (4) But these things I have told you, that when the time comes, you may remember that I told you of them. "And these things I did not say to you at the beginning, because I was with you. (5) "But now I go away to Him who sent Me, and none of you asks Me, 'Where are You going?' (6) But because I have said these things to you, sorrow has filled your heart. (7) Nevertheless I tell you the truth. It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you. (8) And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: (9) of sin, because they do not believe in Me; (10) of righteousness, because I go to My Father and you see Me no more; (11) of judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged. (12) "I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. (13) However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come. (14) He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you. (15) All things that the Father has are Mine. Therefore I said that He will take of Mine and declare it to you.
Acts 2:32-33 NKJV (32) This Jesus God has raised up, of which we are all witnesses. (33) Therefore being exalted to the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, He poured out this which you now see and hear.
JRF: Jesus was not allowed to pour out God's Spirit, until God gave him the authority to do so.
JRF: Who is the greatest in the Kingdom?
Matthew 18:1-6 NKJV (1) At that time the disciples came to Jesus, saying, "Who then is greatest in the kingdom of heaven?" (2) Then Jesus called a little child to Him, set him in the midst of them, (3) and said, "Assuredly, I say to you, unless you are converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven. (4) Therefore whoever humbles himself as this little child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. (5) Whoever receives one little child like this in My name receives Me. (6) "Whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to sin, it would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck, and he were drowned in the depth of the sea.
Matthew 23:11-12 NKJV (11) But he who is greatest among you shall be your servant. (12) And whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.
Mark 9:33-37 NKJV (33)Then He came to Capernaum. And when He was in the house He asked them, "What was it you disputed among yourselves on the road?" (34) But they kept silent, for on the road they had disputed among themselves who would be the greatest. (35) And He sat down, called the twelve, and said to them, "If anyone desires to be first, he shall be last of all and servant of all." (36) Then He took a little child and set him in the midst of them. And when He had taken him in His arms, He said to them, (37) "Whoever receives one of these little children in My name receives Me; and whoever receives Me, receives not Me but Him who sent Me."
Luke 9:46-48 NKJV (46) Then a dispute arose among them as to which of them would be greatest. (47) And Jesus, perceiving the thought of their heart, took a little child and set him by Him, (48) and said to them, "Whoever receives this little child in My name receives Me; and whoever receives Me receives Him who sent Me. For he who is least among you all will be great."
Luke 22:24-30 NKJV (24)Now there was also a dispute among them, as to which of them should be considered the greatest. (25) And He said to them, "The kings of the Gentiles exercise lordship over them, and those who exercise authority over them are called 'benefactors.' (26) But not so among you; on the contrary, he who is greatest among you, let him be as the younger, and he who governs as he who serves. (27) For who is greater, he who sits at the table, or he who serves? Is it not he who sits at the table? Yet I am among you as the One who serves. (28) "But you are those who have continued with Me in My trials. (29) And I bestow upon you a kingdom, just as My Father bestowed one upon Me, (30) that you may eat and drink at My table in My kingdom, and sit on thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel."
JRF: Does God has a plan for the salvation of ALL mankind?
John 3:16-21 NKJV (16) For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. (17) For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. (18) "He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. (19) And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. (20) For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed. (21) But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be clearly seen, that they have been done in God."
Matthew 6:5-15 NKJV (15) "And when you pray, you shall not be like the hypocrites. For they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the corners of the streets, that they may be seen by men. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward.
(6) But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.
(7) And when you pray, do not use vain repetitions as the heathen do. For they think that they will be heard for their many words.
(8) "Therefore do not be like them. For your Father knows the things you have need of before you ask Him.
(9) In this manner, therefore, pray: Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name.
(10) Your kingdom come. Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven.
(11) Give us this day our daily bread.
(12) And forgive us our debts, As we forgive our debtors.
(13) And do not lead us into temptation, But deliver us from the evil one. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.
(14) "For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.
(15) But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
JRF: Jesus is the bread of life, gives more meaning to give us this day our daily bread./i>
Matthew 23:37-39 NKJV (37)"O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the one who kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to her!
How often I wanted to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but you were not willing!
(38) See! Your house is left to you desolate;
(39) for I say to you, you shall see Me no more till you say, 'BLESSED is HE WHO COMES IN THE NAME OF THE LORD!' "
JRF: If only they were willing.
Mat 4:3-4 NKJV (3) Now when the tempter came to Him, he said, "If You are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread."
(4) But He answered and said, "It is written, 'MAN SHALL NOT LIVE BY BREAD ALONE, BUT BY EVERY WORD THAT PROCEEDS FROM THE MOUTH OF GOD.' "
JRF: Do we partake of that Word every day like we do food?
